Bio:
Dr Andrzej Kalina is a graduate of the Department for Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (earning his diploma in 1980). A member of the “Warsztat” group (together with Andrzej Dworakowski and Marek Jaromski), Dr Kalina runs the Graphic Arts Workshop at the Faculty of New Media Arts at PJAIT in Warsaw. He is chiefly involved in graphic arts, installation, environment, and the creation of art objects. He has showcased his work at over 60 solo exhibitions and 450 group exhibitions in Poland and around the world (e.g. in France, Germany, Portugal, Italy and Japan). Dr Kalina has won many awards for his work, including: the 1st International Graphic Arts Triennale in Krakow (1991) and the J. Gielniak Graphic Art Competition in Jelenia Góra (2015). His work can be found in the collections of museums in Poland and abroad, e.g. The British Museum, London, and MoMA, New York. In 1990, Dr Kalina was one of the 13 Polish graphic artists included in the dictionary of Graphic Artists of the World published in Japan.
