Bio:
Dr Piotr Krochmalski (b. 1955, Warsaw) graduated from Divine Mercy College in Henley-on-Thames (UK) and the Department of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, where he earned his diploma from the poster workshop of Prof. Maciej Urbaniec in 1980. He is active in many creative fields. Drawing has been a constant occupation since graduating. He is the author of 20 solo exhibitions, and he has participated in over 50 group exhibitions. From 1990-2003, Dr Krochmalski was involved in creating stage designs, puppet design, costume design, poster design and graphic layouts for programmes for puppet theatre performances in Warsaw, Lublin, Olsztyn, Łomża, Toruń and Krakow. He is also involved in stained glass production and press illustration. From 1992-1993, he worked as an illustrator for “The Warsaw Voice” and, from 1991-1993 he was a member of a group of car designers founded and headed by Prof. Cezary Nawrot at the Department of Industrial Design at ASP in Warsaw. Since 1991, Dr Krochmalski has been actively involved with advertising, working as art director and creative director for a number of Polish and international agencies. Since 1993, he has worked as a lecturer in the Art of Advertising at the graphic arts departments of institutions of higher education throughout Warsaw, including the European Academy of Art (1993-2002), the Academy of Fine Arts (1996-2005), and currently at the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology and the Warsaw School of Applied Information Technology and Management.
