Bio:
A calligrapher, graphic artist and visual information designer, Monika Marek-Łucka graduated from the Department of Graphic Design at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław; she also studied philosophy at the University of Warsaw (her main fields of interest being aesthetics, semiotics and picture theory). She has participated in many academic conferences and written a number of articles on the subject of lettering. Marek-Łucka runs her own visual information design studio. Together with Andrzej Tomaszewski, she is currently working on “Lit[t]era Romana” – an anthology of texts from the Poland’s first typographical magazine, “Litera”, published from 1966-1974.
