Bio:
Dr Roman Pietrzak (b. 1963, Nowy Targ) is a Polish sculptor and associate professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw and the Polish-Japanese Academy of Information Technology in Warsaw. He graduated from the Antoni Kenar PLSP in 1983, and from 1984-1990 studied at the Department of Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. In 1990, Dr Pietrzak received his diploma from Prof. Stanisław Słonina’s Sculpture Workshop; from 1992-1993, he studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels. He is a recognised sculptor and graphic artist, whose works have featured in many exhibitions in Poland and around the world (Belgium, France, Portugal, Hungary, Germany, Austria, Bulgaria). Tired of reality, Dr Pietrzak treats his creative work as an escape from the hypocrisy and relativism of the modern world; however, it is not weapon in the struggle, but merely a moment of reverie, an amusing chat with himself, never an endless stroll through a fabulous world of light, form, texture, composition and colour.
